TRANSPORT GUIDE

Pet Transport from Ohio to Texas

Texas is a large destination, so an Ohio-to-Texas pet transport request needs a specific city and street address. A delivery in the Dallas area is not interchangeable with one near Houston, Austin, or El Paso. Elite Pet Transportation is based in Akron, Ohio and accepts requests for nationwide door-to-door trips. The Owner reviews your proposed journey before confirming availability, scheduling, and the final quote. No route described here represents a guaranteed departure.

For a household relocation, decide whether your pet should arrive before or after your furniture and keys. Someone authorized must be available to receive the animal, even if you are still traveling. If a breeder or family member is handling pickup in Ohio, provide that person's current phone number instead of assuming your own number is enough. Include any access instructions that affect where a driver can meet the contact safely and complete the handoff.

Choosing and planning your trip

Choose Group when sharing a scheduled route fits your plans and the two-to-three-day pickup window is workable. Choose Private when you want a dedicated trip for pets from your household. Private does not remove the need to discuss dates, access, documents, or the practical timing of a long road journey. If you have a firm deadline, describe it clearly in the request so the Owner can review the requirement rather than discovering it after acceptance.

Pricing starts with actual driving miles, not a straight line between states. Texas destinations can change the distance band significantly, particularly when comparing eastern and western parts of the state. Submit complete addresses for the final calculation. A preliminary estimator result is useful for planning, but it is not a substitute for the reviewed quote. List each pet's weight and service choice so the correct distance base and size charges can be itemized.

A multi-pet move deserves particular attention. Group bookings add a size charge for every pet, and each pet after the first adds half of the distance base, rounded up separately to a whole dollar. Solo includes the first pet up to sixty pounds, with the stated heavy-first-pet surcharge when applicable; additional pets add only their own size charges. Enter pets individually so the quote reflects the animals actually traveling rather than a guessed household average.

Preparing for pickup and delivery

Ohio uses Eastern time. Most Texas locations use Central time, while the El Paso area uses Mountain time. Coordinate using the pickup and delivery locations' named time zones and the actual date, because daylight-saving changes affect the displayed abbreviation. A message saying only 'tomorrow at ten' is less useful than a scheduled appointment tied to the correct city. Check both contacts' availability before accepting a revised schedule.

Upload readable health and vaccination documents, confirm contact details, and raise any care questions before the trip. The client account keeps those preparation tasks attached to the booking. The reviewed quote is accepted before the Square deposit is paid, and the remaining balance is due at delivery. If you need to change a delivery address after acceptance, ask the Owner to review the route and amount rather than assuming the earlier quote covers a different destination.

Published price ranges

These are single-pet ranges from the current chart, not a fixed price or a claim about this route's mileage. Group ranges run from Extra Small to 2XL. Solo ranges show the included first pet up to 60 lb and the first-pet surcharge above 60 lb. Actual driving miles between submitted addresses select the tier.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same Ohio-to-Texas quote after changing the destination?

Contact the Owner first. A different Texas address may change driving miles, scheduling, handoff arrangements, and the applicable distance band. Your existing sent quote is not automatically repriced; the Owner can review the change and issue the appropriate update before you rely on the new route.

What deposit is required, and when is the balance due?

The deposit is 30% of the total, with a $150 minimum, rounded to whole dollars and never above the total. Accept your reviewed quote before paying through Square. The remaining balance is due at delivery via Square.

What happens if the trip is canceled?

If the client cancels at any time, the deposit is forfeited and no additional balance is owed for cancellation. If Elite Pet Transportation cancels, the client receives a full refund of the deposit and all other payments.
